I’m not a lesbian, get a hit song; Shatta Wale’s wife jabs Yaa Pono

Shatta Mitchy, wife of dancehall artiste Shatta Wale, has denied allegations that she is a lesbian.

Wadding into her husband’s beef with Yaa Pono, the actress was swift to distance herself from any lesbian act.

Radio presenter Abeiku Santana in a short Instagram interview quizzed Shatta Mitchy if she was a lesbian and what she made of Yaa Pono's accusations.
She responded, “I’m not lesbian, he [Yaa Pono] should get a hit song.”

The beef between Yaa Pono and Shatta Wale escalated after the former was denied an opportunity to perform at a concert headlined by Shatta Wale in Cape Coast in the Central region in February this year.

The organizers of the concert later explained that Yaa Pono was unable to perform because they were running out of time and therefore had to cut down on the performances.
Things got ugly when the two released diss tracks to attack each other.

Recently rapper Kwaw Kese claimed that no Ghanaian entertainment personality owns a $1 million house in the country.
His claims followed declarations by Fuse ODG and Shatta Wale that they have purchased mansions worth $1 million dollars.

Shatta Mitchy, commenting on the criticisms by Kwaw Kese, noted that the mansion is real and “it is opening soon.”

Davido refused to use condom - Alleged 2nd baby mama reveals

Mother of one, Ayomide Labinjo, has alleged that pop singer, Davido, is the father of her three-year-old child, Anuoluwapo. Labinjo said this in an interview with Punch. According to her, they would not have been in the current paternity mess, “if only Davido had listened to me and worn a condom.”

When asked why she would allow anybody to have unprotected s*x with her, Ayomide alleged that the singer was not a fan of wearing condoms during s*x as she recounted in details what allegedly transpired the two times she alleged they had s*x.

The young lady claimed, “The reason I slept with him the first time we met was because I just wanted to catch my fun. The day we met at the club, Ebevande, I was with my friends, I did not really know him then but I just knew he was an artiste.

I went out with my female friends; we had like a ladies night out; then one of his bouncers came to meet me and told me that his boss wanted to see me. I actually thought it was the owner of the club that wanted to see me. When I got to where they were, I noticed that it was David and he was with B. Red.

I greeted both of them, B. Red did not respond but David did and we talked. He collected my pin and asked me to return to my seat.

When they were about to leave, the bouncer came to meet me again and informed me that they wanted to leave.

My friends thought we were all going together but when we all got to the car, he asked my friends to go back. He said that I was the one he wanted to see.

“We went to the Genesis Hotel. When we got to the room, we talked for a long while before we had s*x.

He is a very jovial person and he loves talking. He made me laugh a lot and we talked at length. B. Red was in the other room. I insisted that he should protect himself by wearing a condom before s*x but he refused.

He said that he does HIV test every two weeks. Then I asked him how sure he was that I did not have any disease but he said he was very sure I did not have a disease. After he had said all that, I told him to just do what he wanted to do and allow me go home in the morning.

That night, he had s*x with me twice. You would know he was in the mood to have s*x that night and it lasted for a while. He has a big manhood and it hurt me a little. The second time was when he noticed I was leaving in the morning and he just wanted to have s*x with me again.

“The second time, the s*x did not last long because he was very tired and he did not even know when I left the hotel. I do not drink or smoke but David drinks and smokes. He drank and smoked in the club” she alleged.

Labinjo told Saturday Beats that she was shocked that Davido said he gave her money as she claimed she had never received a dime from the singer since they met. In her words, she described the self-acclaimed Omo Baba Olowo as “a very stingy person.”

“I saw where he said he sent money to my family and that is a lie. The question I would ask is that what account did he pay the money into? He should bring out the bank teller. He has never given me money.

If they said they have given me money, there would be a record or evidence and they should bring it out. Even when we had sex, he never gave me money for transport.

David is a very stingy person and I would not be the first person saying this. I have heard it from different girls, David is very stingy,” she said.

When asked if she was certain that the pop star is the father of her child, she answered in the affirmative. She claimed as of the time they met, she did not have a boyfriend and she is not one to jump from one bed to another.

Labinjo said, “I am very sure he is the father of my child because I did not have a boyfriend when we met. I had some male friends but it was just a platonic relationship I had with them and nothing serious.

I don’t jump from one bed to another and that is why I am very bold and certain that he is the father of my child. If I had been sleeping around, I would not be that bold to talk.”

She was quick to add that all she wanted was for the singer to step forward for another DNA test. Labinjo said that even if the result shows that Davido is the father of her child, she doubts mutual love would co-exist between them because of the way he has treated her all these years.

The mother of one also hinted that the matter may soon be taken to court.

“I just want him to take up his responsibility but I heard he is not ready for another DNA. My mother has gone to a lawyer and we would eventually go to court because I know we have a good case.

I was told that even if David does not want to step out for a DNA, any of his siblings could step in for him. Once everything is settled, I just want him to take care of his daughter but there cannot be mutual love between us. Even the way he talks to me cannot allow for mutual love,” she said.

Meanwhile, in a chat with Sunday Punch, Davido’s manager, Asa Asika, had reportedly said, “Davido is not the father of the baby.”

When asked if the singer would be willing to undergo another DNA test, he retorted, “He is not going for another DNA test. After all, a test was conducted and it turned out negative. DNA tests are never wrong. Davido had never met her before she showed up at his house claiming that he is the father of her child. She is just an opportunist looking for quick money and fame.”

I’m not a bad girl; I was poorly branded – Mzbel

Female musician Mzbel has said her bad girl image arose from bad management by her handlers in her early days as a musician.

Mzbel’s arrival on the Ghanaian showbiz scene met with controversy, the singer appearing on stage in skimpy outfits to perform songs laden with risqué lyrics, most notably hit track Awoso Me. Photos have also emerged of the artiste posing nude in the past, developments that have entrenched the perception.

But setting the record straight on the Class Drive on Class91.3FM on Thursday 23 March, the 16 Years composer explained the reason the bad girl perception around her does not go away.

She told show host Prince Benjamin: “From the beginning I was launched into the industry wrongly. It was these people I was working with. They had no idea how it worked. They owned a studio, they had all the equipment, they had money, I was pushed into the studio to do a freestyle and by the time I realised I had an album, so they just put me out there. We were just trying with Awoso Me and it was a hit instantly and everybody wanted to see who was behind the song, so they (the handlers) convinced me to do it because people loved me and before I realised I was performing everywhere, granting interviews. So we didn’t plan it.

“I can just get up and wear anything and act anyhow on stage. I was young, I was having fun, I loved it, people loved it, so I didn’t really care about my makeups, costumes, I just wanted to be free… And then there were other girls in the industry who would go on stage in their baggy jeans and big chains and they didn’t reveal so much [skin]. They were very careful about the words they used, but the people behind me, that is Hush Hush Studios, didn’t care either. They had just come from America where everybody is allowed to do what they want to. It was just like that.

“So people started criticising me, calling me bad names and we didn’t care because anytime there was a show and I was on, it was hot and I was making money travelling the world, so nobody cared. …There was no social media where people would go and insult you and post bad pictures of you and all that. It was just radio and TV and how often will they have time to go and sit down and talk about one person, so it wasn’t a big deal. So my name started going on and on and by the time social media became popular, I had a bad name and no matter how hard I try to rebrand, it’s not working”.

Mzbel advised her fans not to judge her based on what they read about her in the media. According to her, she is a nice person who just wants to live a normal life.

“Don’t judge me based on what you read in newspapers or what you read on websites and blogs. If you don’t hear it from me, then it’s not true. They should understand that celebrities are also human beings. We like to do silly stuffs like they like to do. We like to take our phones and pull our tongues out and take pictures and be carefree, so sometimes they shouldn’t take these things too seriously otherwise it would not be fun anymore – we would be like robots, always faking.

It would be an insult to my Masters Degree to respond to Mike 2 – George Quaye

Head of Communications for Charterhouse Ghana, George Quaye has finally explained his silence on a campaign by a group calling itself Concerned Radio Presenters which requested his resignation following his bribery allegation statement, abrantepa.com can state!

George Quaye who never minces words says he felt it would be an insult to his level of eduction to respond to the group because some of the members are not worth his precious time.

His comment was pre-empted by a Kelly Nii Lartey Facebook post which sought to find answers to why he was yet to utter a word over the more than a month old issue knowing how vociferous he is.

“Here on social media, if there’s anyone I know who responds to issues that concern him, that person is George Quaye, so I’m quite surprised that all this while, he hasn’t said anything to the mutiny waged against his career by rebellious Concerned Radio People” the post read.

“Hahahahahahahahahahaha…my brother Kelly Nii Lartey Mensa dey worry. Truth Kelly is that I planned responding to them after the VGMAs on 8th February. But having taken a bit to look into some of them I realized it would be a total disgrace to my Masters Degree. You see, you can’t go chasing after a madman who steals your towel while you take a shower. Our wise men have also advised us not to argue with idiots because they will drag us into their world and defeat us with experience. Finally, what they really tried to do was bring me down.

If they weren’t beneath me already, that won’t be possible. So I chose to leave them there…beneath me. Afterall, the lion needs not turn, when a small dog barks. I respond to relevant issues and relevant people. The so called Concerned Radio jokers can come again. I still won’t pay them the attention they so desperately seek.” George Quaye responded.

BACKGROUND

Prior to the release of nominee list for this year’s edition of Vodafone Ghana Music Awards organised by Charterhouse, George Quaye alleged that Gospel musicians offer the most bribes for awards.

Amidst the public backlash and suggestions that he names artistes involved, George Quaye apologised.

His apology was however rubbished by Concerned Radio Presenters.

“George Quaye just made the bribery claim but he never said whether he accepted it or not so he must resign. We never knew people pay or attempt to pay bribe so he has to mention names of such people. It is illegal to pay bribe in the country so they have to call for the arrest of such people.

“For the board members, they take the final decision after the public has voted so if their final decision is influenced by bribe, then they also have to resign for investigation” spokesperson for the group who doubles as host of Adom FM’s Entertainment Hall, Michael Boateng (Mike 2) said on Radio Univers.

George Quaye has a masters degree in Communication Studies from the University of Ghana, abrantepa.com gathers.

Arrested ATL hall student leaders sign GHC50,000 bail bonds each

The 22 student leaders of the University of Cape Coast’s Atlantic Hall arrested on Thursday over the recent vandalism on campus have been made to sign bail bonds of GH¢50,000 each.

They were invited by the Central Regional Police Command to bring along parents or guardians as surety.

These were disclosed by the Central Regional Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Irene Oppong, in an interview with 3news.com’s Thomas Vincent Cann on Friday, March 24. ASP Irene Oppong said the Command has taken the issue as a criminal case and it is following due process to get to the bottom of it.

Last Friday during the Atlantic Hall Week celebrations, students from University of Ghana’s Commonwealth Hall and Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology’s Unity Hall clashed with students of UCC’s Oguaa Hall, leaving three students severely injured from knife stabs. One of the injured is said to have been paralysed as a result of the injury.

The police arrested leaders of the Atlantic Hall on Thursday. “They are to help us,” ASP Oppong insisted.

“They should provide information to help us get the main culprits.” She said security has been beefed up on campus and will be intensified for future events on campus.

I don’t see Nigerian artistes as a threat – Shatta Wale

Shatta Wale has said even though hard work and good branding are the trademarks of most Nigerian artistes, the influx of their music in the country does not speak well of music industry in Ghana.

Despite the above claim, the Dancehall artiste stated he is nevertheless threatened nor intimidated by the Nigerian entertainment crooners in an interview with Vibes in 5.

“Most of the Nigerian artistes respect me a lot…They know how business minded I am. They know how talented I am,” he averred.

The Ghana Music Industry, undeniably has a long way to go, according to critics who believe that visibility to the world scene can be facilitated and brought into reality by many artistes determined to work together to make it happen.

Among such artistes is Shatta Wale who renowned artiste, Willi Roi, likened him to be the ‘Jesus Christ’ of the industry.

The Dancehall artiste believed there is an urgent need for musicians in Ghana to be united.

According to him, he is resilient and ready to fight for the Ghanaian music industry to gain recognition in Africa and the world.

To champion this course, Shatta Wale disclosed in an interview with Vibes in 5 that he has spoken to a couple of colleagues including Obrafuour, KK Fosu, Tinny, Samini, Sarkodie to promote the Ghanaian music brand.

Ghanaians have regretted voting for Akufo-Addo – Twum Boafo

Barely 100 days since President Akufo-Addo resumed office, the Former Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Free Zones Board; Kwadwo Twum Boafo believes many Ghanaians have already regretted not retaining John Mahama as president in the 2016 December polls.

Speaking on GhOne TV’s State of Affairs yesterday, Kwadwo Twum Boafo asserted that he believes a comeback for John Mahama in 2020 will be a good move for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to win power because Ghanaians are now blaming themselves for choosing President Akufo-Addo over Mahama.

“I think President Mahama should run again and I tell you why, I think that there are going to be so many I told you so moments in the next four years, in fact they have already started”, he said

His reasons for making such assumptions were based on Nana Akufo-Addo’s elephant-sized government where 110 people were appointed as Ministers.

President Akufo-Addo’s appointment of 110 ministers has caused ruckus from the opposition party and many organizations criticizing his reasons for having a large size government.

But the Minister of Information, Mustpha Hamid at a press conference defended the President’s decision of appointing more ministers saying the President never promised a lean government in his campaign

NDC didn’t cherish power – Afotey Agbo

Kpone Katamanso MP Nii Laryea Afotey Agbo has said members of the erstwhile Mahama government did not treasure the political power they had, hence their failure to work hard enough to win the 2016 elections.

According to him, although this is not the time to apportion blame for the defeat of the NDC members of the then government failed to value political power.

His comments follow recent outbursts by some leading members of the NDC blaming some personalities and happenings within the party for the defeat at the polls.

Speaking in an interview with Emefa Apawu on Class 91.3FM’s 505 programme on Thursday March 23, Mr Afotey Agbo said: “People are coming out to react, they are coming out to give some comments but some are not correct and others, even if they are right, this is not the time to apportion blame, this is not the time to accuse people.

“Whatever happened in the [election] somehow is about human character, it is about people who have been in power for eight years, and at a point they cherished no more the power they had.”

Meanwhile, Kofi Adams, National Organiser of the NDC, has said the decision of some leading lights of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to openly criticise the actions of the party and some persons within its ranks following the NDC’s loss in last year’s elections reflects their inexperience and immaturity.

According to him, a committee has been put in place by the party to carry out a post mortem as to why the NDC lost the elections, hence, all concerns must be directed at the Professor Kwesi Botchwey-led committee.

His comments follow recent remarks made by some leading members of the party that the conduct of some members of the John Mahama government resulted in the party’s defeat.

The immediate past chairman of the opposition NDC, Dr Kwabena Adjei, is reported to have said on Starr FM: “I wasn’t surprised [the NDC lost]…because when they (delegates) voted me out in Kumasi they voted the party out. It was a done deal [that the NPP will win]. I am not superstitious, but I came to the party with my own style…and I had a way of relating to the people.

“Nobody involved me in the campaign, I involved myself… No, I wasn’t invited… I tried to get access to the president and I didn’t get access. When I noticed things were going wrong, I tried and tried and tried but I didn’t get access, so I mobilised myself…and did what I could do.”

Similarly, a former National Organiser of the NDC, Yaw Boateng Gyan, has said most of the executives disrespected the electorate.

“The other issue has to do with the way and manner our people were talking to the electorate…very arrogant and disrespectful. How would we have appealed to the voters?” he wondered in an interview on Abusua FM.

“Some of us couldn’t talk because they said we had been voted out of the executive position of the party and so we shouldn’t talk… A lot of things went wrong.”

However, reacting to these comments in an interview on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme on Thursday March 23, Mr Adams said: “A committee has been set up to listen to the concerns of all party members. The committee members are made up of eminent men who were not part of the executives and so we should allow the committee to work and put out their final report for all of us to work with.

“The accusation and counter accusation now will not help because if at the end of the day these accusations are not captured in the final report, then it means you have defamed somebody. I believe strongly that the way some of the leading members of the party are speaking is not the best, it doesn’t give indications of any experience, it doesn’t give indications of any maturity. I believe that they need to behave a little bit more maturely.”
