#VGMA2017: Runtown is African Artist of the Year
Propelling him to this height is his continental hit Mad Over You. Competition from Patoranking, Mr. Eazi, Tekno, and Nathaniel Bassey was simply not enough for the singer, who performed alongside Sarkodie during the performance of the latter’s Painkiller. He proceeded to lead the audience through a thrilling rendition of Mad Over You.
Northern-based rapper Fancy Gadam caused a big upset when he was adjudged Best New Act. He came into the awards an underdog, with many tipping Medikal for the award. Medical, who had 7 nominations for this year’s event, won none of them –losing to the likes of M.anifest, and Sarkodie.
The 18th edition, the event is a Charterhouse Ghana production, and has Vodafone as headline sponsor.
I will give 'Rapper of the Year' brand new V8 – Dumelo
Mr Dumelo, who was invited together with actress Zynell Zuh on Sunday April 9 to present the award to the winner of that category at this year’s VGMAs, said: “The winner is getting a brand new V8 by me; 2017 model.”
Mr Dumelo, a staunch supporter of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has been in the news lately for his involvement in a Toyota V8 Land Cruiser scandal.
Government had set up a task force to retrieve all state vehicles in possession of individuals after the NDC administration of John Mahama handed over to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government. One of such vehicles impounded recently was being used by Mr Dumelo.
It remains to be seen whether the actor is serious about his promise to give away a V8 to M.anifest who won Rapper of the Year or intended as a joke on the back of his Toyota V8 Land Cruiser saga

VGMA history: See artistes who have won 'Artiste of the Year' since 2000
The night comes with its glitz and glam and not forgetting about the controversies and the see through dresses.
Well, this year, there have been several predictions for who wins the Artiste of the year category which is the most respected award on the night.
The awards scheme is 18 years and is the most respected awards scheme in Ghana at the moment.
Now, let's move into history to check out which artistes have ever won the Artiste of the Year category since 2000.

Joe Mettle crowned Artiste of the Year at VGMAs 2017
For seventeen years of its inception, gospel artistes had earned as many nominations as their secular colleagues but had not been able to clinch the topmost award.
The development coupled with Joe Mettle’s achievements the year under review, led to several gospel artistes and entertainment pundits throwing their weights behind him and calling for the crown to be bestowed on him which eventually saw the light of day.
Joe Mettle beat competition from Sarkodie, EL, Stonebwoy, MzVee and Medikal. He was also adjudged Gospel Artiste of the Year.
Stonebwoy also made history as the only act to win the Reggae/Dancehall Artiste of the Year and Reggae/Dancehall Song of the Year for three consecutive years.
VVIP defended two titles: Best Group of the Year and Best Collaboration of the Year with their ‘Alhaji’ song which featured Patoranking.
For the first time, Flowking Stone walked home with an award as his song ‘Go Low’ beat Guru’s ‘Samba’, Donzy’s ‘Club’, Sarkodie’s ‘RNS’, Criss Waddle’s ‘Bie Gya’, Kofi Kinaata’s ‘Sweetie Pie’ and ‘Alhaji’ by VVIP to win Hiplife Song of the Year.
For his outstanding contribution to the music industry, Papa Yankson was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award which he dedicated to his mentor, C.K Man.
As predicted by many entertainment critics, Runtown who was the only African act invited to the event, picked African Artiste of the Year award.
The colourful event solely hosted by Anita Erskine of Starr FM saw performances from Sarkodie, Kofi Kinaata, Ernest Opoku, Nacee, Adina, Akwaboah, EL, Runtown and a host of others.

I’m excited to host the Red Carpet - Elikem
Finally, the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards is here and come Saturday, April 8, all roads will lead to the Accra International Conference Centre where the event will take place.This year’s red carpet will be hosted by TV and radio presenter Berla Mundi and actor cum fashion designer Elikem Kumordzie better known as Elikem Da Tailor.
A very important aspect of the event is the red carpet where celebrities flaunt various designs. It is no doubt a very exciting aspect of the ceremony and patrons and viewers around the globe look forward to it.
Showbiz caught up with Elikem last Tuesday and he was super excited about the task ahead, “ I am an extrovert and an entertainer so I am going to bring both to bear on the red carpet come Saturday,” were his initial words.
He however did not dispute the fact that he is a bit nervous about the whole thing, “Well, I must admit that nerves are running up and down but I am going to take it nice and easy and ensure that I deliver,” he said.
According to the former Big Brother Africa Housemate, the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards is the biggest event on the nation’s entertainment calendar and he does not intend to let the organisers down for believing in him.
“Whatever was seen in me that made them pick me should be brought to bear on the night, for them to put me on the red carpet means that they obviously saw something in me and I don’t intend to disappoint at all,” he said.
Most importantly, Elikem says he intends to be himself as much as possible, “trust that I will be myself, I will try and be as Elikem as possible,” he concluded.
Talking about what he will wear on the night, Elikem said he will style himself and keep it simple.

How ‘Micheal Bolton’s song’ saved me from committing suicide – Mr. Ibu
According to him, several years ago the man he was living with at Ajao Estate area of Oshodi, Lagos, Nigeria threw him out of his house with his loads.
Mr. Ibu, who was a guest on Brilla FM with Murphy Ijemba, said after his friend threw him out, he had already opened a well to jump inside when he heard the song from Michael Bolton being played from a neighbour’s house.
“I went back from where I was standing before and the guy who was living in the next building, he was playing Michael Bolton and the title of the song was “when I am back on my feet again.” I listened to it. I covered the well back, I went back closer and the man singing was talking to me straight. After I listened to that music, I said God would have hated me if I had killed myself. God would have driven me away from his kingdom. I would have been in hell,” he disclosed.
“After the music finished playing, I discovered my new self and I said, well, the guy threw out my bags and clothes on the floor, I left them there. I was still wearing what I wore that day. I left the compound and I was looking for a place like uncompleted building or abandoned vehicle so that I can clean it up to sleep.
“I saw a trailer parked and I decided to sleep there, all of a sudden, in that trailer, I saw the marks of dogs and I decided not to sleep there anymore for fear of the dogs. I worked into the street and I saw some crowd gathered at Ajao Estate, I met some colleagues, I was given a script to read but because I had not eaten anything and my sight was bad, I could not read it.
“There is name I always prayed for; she told me to come and stay in her house, she was just a fan, she wanted me to follow her to her boy friend’s house; I followed her since I don’t have a place to sleep. When we got there, the boyfriend travelled. We got to a street called Adetola Aguda, I remembered the number I was given sometimes ago, it was 125 and I searched for it.
“Coincidentally, that my friend came back from Germany the day before. He told me that wherever I live in Lagos I must park out today. The guy took me to my house and saw my bags and loads outside, I first lied to him that I wanted to travel, which was why I brought out the load. I carried my bag and clothes and we went back to his house and he gave me a room; I went in and started crying again. I reserve my biggest thanks to that girl, one Sandra Eze, God will pick you up and collect your case file. Everything must be yours,” he narrated.Mr. Ibu said due to what happened to him in the past, he could not watch anybody shedding tears before him, saying that
“I go the extra mile to help them, I don’t have to know you, I have taken people out of this country who are not my relatives, I just met them on the streets. I don’t have to know you, the issue is that I just reflected what happened to me years back, I made up my mind that assisting people will be a key thing in my life.”

For some years now, there have been reports that the singer is intimately involved with her manager, Taiye Aliyu, but both of them never came out to confirm or deny the reports.
New pictures of the two together seems to give credence to growing reports that Yemi Alade and Taiye Aliyu are more than just working mates.
Taiye, according to reports, has been the pillar of Yemi’s career and therefore it does not come as a surprise to many that they might be dating.
The two who are currently in France have shared their photos which has got people talking.
#VGMANostalgia: 2002 – of Lord Kenya, the stage god
With a consistent offering of five records in as many years, he quickly became your ultimate Ghanaian superstar –something like the modern-day Shatta Wale.
Even now, several years after he has walked away from the celebrity of music to take up the Lord’s work, his name is mentioned with reverence, and songs he released about two decades ago still experience radio presence like they were published recently. The lifespan of a modern song usually doesn’t exceed a few months, and so the fact that his music is present on our airwaves at all speaks volumes, especially when, since becoming a pastor, he has constantly requested media houses to stop playing his songs.
A story is told about how once, at a local radio station in Accra, he was forced to perform from his car, because the thick crowd of admirers that had gathered around him was simply impenetrable. Many other stories abound about how his concerts were characterised by rowdiness, and there was violent pushing and shoving for his clothes when he threw them into the audience.
2002 is a momentous year not just for Kenya, but for the genre in general. Really, until he swept four awards (including Artist of the Year) in that edition of the Ghana Music Awards, hiplife was not regarded with the same seriousness as, say, highlife. Controversial as it may sound, him (a rap act) winning Artist of the Year legitimized that type of music, and secured mainstream acceptance for the genre. He truly opened the floodgates for other rappers, which is why perhaps 10 out of the 12 acts who have won Artist of the Year since him have been hiplife people: Kontihene (2003), V.I.P (2004, 2011), Obour (2005), Kwaw Kese (2008), Okyeame Kwame (2008), Sarkodie (2010, 2012), R2Bees (2013), and EL (2016).
His style, like his concert, was fierce and reminded you of a certain 2Pac Shakur. Even his love songs were delivered with a fearless demeanor. Again, like 2Pac, it was clear that he had so much to say in painfully limited time. Still, within that short spate, he did a lot of saying.
Every one of his performances was striking for some reason. You never knew what to expect when you attended a Lord Kenya gig, and it gave you a rush every time.
He was unstoppable. His voice was too husky to be any good at singing, but he sang. His colleagues held on to new music to allow for old ones to completely ebb, but he was constantly ready with a record. He flew off stages and broke his leg, but he was back in a couple of months, rousing thousands with renewed vigor.
Kenya truly led the pack with his stage presence, and raised the bar so high that, even today, it still remains to be matched. Even in the recording booth, veteran producer Zapp Mallet (who worked on a significant amount of songs on his catalogue) once recounted in an interview, Lord Kenya was something else.
And then suddenly, somewhere in 2004 his performances began to lose fire. He would pick up the mic and forget his lines. He was constantly fatigued, and there were occasions when his sets were simply abysmal. In a tell-all interview with broadcaster Deloris Frimpong- Manso (Delay) years later, he would confess to the use of a cocktail of illicit drugs as the reason for the volatile feature of his craft. Stardom is a dangerous thing.
He did make a return though, in 2006, with Born Again. Heavily themed on sentiments of compunction, it chalked significant reception, and was subtle notice of things to come as, soon after, he went into full-time ministry.
Ye Sum Sika, the album with which he ascended GMA royalty rained masterpieces: Mr. P.O.P, Enwom No, Mobrowa, Medo etc. It topped local charts for 34 weeks straight.
Also picking 4 awards at GMA 2002 was (unsurprisingly) Daasebre Gyamenah, who’s 1999 hit Kokooko was a major springboard for the rapper. A dynamic duo, they proved what majestic art could erupt when the best of both worlds united creatively. Kokooko is archetypical hiplife, and is among the most important contributions to the genre till date.
Gyamenah passed last year, and Kenya caters for the Lord’s flock, but the Kenya era is no doubt a special moment in GMA history.

I rap like a chameleon - Captain Planet
According to him, he does not see himself as an A class artiste who has produced almost nineteen hit songs but rather as an underground artiste who is working to be recognised by the world.
"I always see myself as an underground artiste and I am always learning. I am not in the industry to compete but to cut a brand for myself. So all those beefing I don't engage in all those things because I did not come to Accra to just look at the see but to make some money and send it to my mother in the village."
The artiste whose rap lines have always been criticised as being weak indicated that he is like a chameleon who can rap on any beat and is dynamic with his style of rap.
"I am like a chameleon I have different styles of rapping any beat you give me I can rap. I know a lot of people who think I am dope and I know some people who will say I am wack. For me I leave it to the public to judge my performance."
He revealed that his wife who works with Facebook does not pay the bills as being speculated and that she married him for who he is and not because he is a ‘celebrity’ and neither did he marry her for because of her influence.
On how he takes "insults" from the current artistes he said: "when we started, these guys were in Senior High School and when we're supposed to perform on TV 3 Music Music, they stay awake to watch us and clap for us so I just see them as people trying to now come up".
D Black, Shatta Wale others billed for '06 Empire' launch
The event will also see the outdooring of the label’s new signee Lousika who has been off the music scenes for a while now.
The new record label will focus on Artiste Branding, Artiste Management, Music Promotion and Event Organizing.
According to Maxwell Ofori Otchere, CEO of 06 empire, the label will empower and discover hidden talents across the African continent.
“Our goal is to help as many raw talents as we can to further music careers, by pushing them to the extreme limits, providing them the right opportunities to help develop their craft regardless of the Genre they represent and I would like to see O6 empire records receiving awards and organizing big concerts with both Foreign and local acts in the next 5 months,” Maxwell Ofori Otchere concluded.

Dancehall artiste Stonebwoy won the award for Outstanding performance in music at the 2017 Coca Cola Youth Achiever Awards.
The awards scheme was instituted to celebrate 60 young Ghanaians doing exceptional and impactful works in entrepreneurship, community service and education.

Stonebwoy Burniton, born Livingstone Etse Satekla is a Ghanaian Afro pop, dancehall and reggae artiste who hails from the Volta Region. He was born on March 5, 1988 in Ashaiman, a suburb of Accra, and places fourth (4th) in a family of seven (7) siblings.
As far back as grade four (4), young Stonebwoy realized his love and passion for creative arts, having successfully scripted and acted for the drama club of his school and also put words together in a rhythmic manner. Since then, the young chap has never stopped singing both songs that he has written and composed and those by artists he is influenced by
In an industry flooded with people trying out a number of things in a bid to establishing their identity, Stonebwoy stands as one unique artiste with a sense of direction and purpose. His two albums (currently available on iTunes) Grade #1 and Necessary Evil are captivating debut that heralds the arrival of a gifted and significant artist, marking his territory. He recorded his first track in a family studio a decade ago. Thence, Stonebwoy has never looked back.
Making the history surrounding the emergence of an African legend was when in first year in Senior High School, Stonebwoy met up with a radio DJ/Presenter, Doctor Duncan who at the time was the host of KASAHARI, a real time rap battle programme. Out of that programme came the likes of Sakordie, Dr Cryme and many other relevant rappers in Ghana. More than 10 years ago and Stonebwoy recalls “I battled my way out every weekend without defeat till date. Music chose me, I didn’t choose music”.
His first radio hit, Makuma (My Heart) was released in second year at Senior High School plus several others that followed up later. By third year, he had amassed for himself a flaming underground popularity and went on to release another hit titled Empress which held him up years after leaving High School in 2007.
Thereafter, things happened in quick succession and Stonebwoy soon started work with S24 studios in 2008. He later joined Samini (one of Ghana’s revered dancehall artiste) and his HighGrade family and remained there until 2012, when he decided to put into practice all he had seen and learnt when he formed his own record label called Burniton Music Group (BMG).
Knowing the direction he was heading with his career, Stonebwoy worked day and night with his team to ensure that they achieved the best. Today, the result of hard work is certainly paying off for the young chap with collaborations with international acts from Africa, UK, Jamaica such as Jah Vinci, Trey Songz, Gappy Ranks, Randy Valentine, Sakordie, Wayne Wonder, Laza Morgan, Samini, Obrafour, Black Prophet, R2Bees, Patoranking, General Pype Stylogee, Burna Boy, Morgan Heritage, Chris Martin, I Octane, Kranium and many others.
With his electrifying and energetic performance, he has attracted a large fan base across the world having staged performances in UK, USA, Australia, Italy, Amsterdam and many more countries and sharing stage with acts such as Lauryn Hill, Alkaline, Busy Signal, Popcaan, Morgan Heritage and Wizkid.
Branding plays a very important role within the BMG group, and as a brand, Stonebwoy’s popular catchphrase – “BHIM!!!!!?(Bless His Imperial Majesty) – has been largely received and accepted, not just within Ghana and Africa, but in Europe too.
Facebook user descends on Shatta Mitchy for disturbing Ghanaians with her 'kiosk
Yesterday, the queen of the Shatta Movement empire opened her new pub to the public.
But pictures of the pub online does not commensurate the amount of money shatta Wale always boast of having and social media users cannot think far about it.
One individual who could not fathom why after all the 'noise' the pub turned out to be just a kiosk is Shayc Babs.
He posted "The so-called Diamonds Pub & Grill SHATTA WALE have been making noise about! Upon all his mystery $1M mansion this is what he could set up for his baby mama. One of my focal lenses who happens to be a citizen of East Legon was there to spy on how the atmosphere was at the opening of this over hyped kiosk and this is what my anonymous peep has "I was there yesterday. The place was very dull and almost no one cares to buy a drink". He added "People were just standing there watching". Smh I was speechless

This is because she has been wearing skimpy or revealing clothes way before she entered into music.

“The bad girl brand people see out there is a true representation of me. This is how I have been even before coming into the limelight” she told Showbiz in an interview on Monday.
“I don’t pretend to be who I am not. I am a very bad girl and there is nothing anyone can do about it. And I am proud to say it. I have nine piercings and a lot of tattoos all over my body and this is how I want to live my life,” she said.
According to Ebony, no one can tell her what to do so far as she knows she is doing the right thing and anyone who wants to love her can do so by supporting whatever she does.
“Love me for who I am because the whole Ebony brand comes with the package. How I dress, my tattoos, my hair and my colour comes with the Ebony brand and I want Ghanaians to accept that” the Poison hitmaker said.
Reacting to a situation at the passport office recently where she was asked to leave the premises because of indecent dressing, Ebony who described the situation as unfortunate said she was disappointed at the whole issue because there is no dress code at the passport office.
“I chose not to talk about it but I was very angry because there were ladies there with more revealing outfits but they were not asked to leave.” said Ebony who has three nominations in this year’s Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA).
Asked if revealing too much flesh does not draw unnecessary attention from the opposite sex, Ebony said the pressure is sometimes unbearable but she knows how to handle such situations because men will always be men.
Real name Priscilla Opoku Kwarteng, Ebony who is known for songs like Dancefloor, Turn On the Light and Kupe said she has plans to collaborate with Sarkodie, Shatta Wale among others.
About her chances at this year’s VGMA, Ebony who was nominated for Best New Artiste of the Year, Reggae/ Dancehall Artiste of the Year and Best Reggae/ Dancehall Song of the Year said she knows she is going home with at least two awards.
She also expressed her gratitude to her management team Rufftown Records for spotting the talent in her.
“My management team is made up of wonderful people, they make sure I get all the shows and promote my songs” she said.

The ceremony was graced by a number of actors, actresses as well as close relatives of both families. Reports of the two being an item were loud somewhere in 2016 after pictures of the two loved up in a kiss found its way online. Congrats to the couple. More on the story soon.

2017 Ghana Music Awards UK: Organizers assure 'bigger and better' event
At a brief press conference announcement which was held at STARR UK Multimedia premises in Croydon, South London, one thing was clear: this year’s ceremony will feature more glitz, more drama and the biggest Ghanaian celebrities all assembling at the event.
Seated on the high table were Alordia, Emelio, Nana Slick, Tracy and Mimzy to outline the whole event and mainly touched on the plans for GMAUK 2017 and how better it will be.
Speaking at the press conference, Alordia, the CEO said they are pleased to be hosting the event once again and accepted their mistakes but will better it for this year.
The General Manager, Nana Slick told the media that musicians, music industry practitioners and members of the general public that nominations for the 2nd edition of the award ceremony has officially been opened and will be closed on 30th May 2017.
Artistes who works falls within April 2016 - April 2017 should send their works to info@theghanamusicawardsuk@gmail.com or visit www.ghanamusicawardsuk.com; also a form will be made available on the official GMAUK 2017 website too.
Tracy, the administrator for GMAUK 2017 said organisers would ensure the GMAUK 2017 remain exciting and relevant this year.
The award ceremony will have a total of 28 categories which include: African Artiste of the Year, Best Club DJ of the Year, Gospel song of the Year, Gospel Artiste of the Year, New Artiste of the Year, Music Producer of the Year, Best Music Video of the Year, Best Group of the Year, Best Rapper of the Year, Hiplife Song of the Year, Highlife Song of the Year, Highlife Artiste of the Year, Most Popular Song of the Year, Reggae/Dancehall Song of the Year, Reggae/Dancehall Artiste of the Year, Afrobeats Artiste of the Year, Best Collaboration of the Year, Album of the Year, Artiste of the Year, Best UK Based Group, Best UK Based Afrobeats Artiste, Best UK Gospel Song, Best UK Gospel Artiste, Best UK Based Music Video, UK Based Ghanaian international Artiste, UK Based newcomer of the Year and UK Based Ghanaian Producer of the Year.
I’m not a lesbian, get a hit song; Shatta Wale’s wife jabs Yaa Pono
Wadding into her husband’s beef with Yaa Pono, the actress was swift to distance herself from any lesbian act.
Radio presenter Abeiku Santana in a short Instagram interview quizzed Shatta Mitchy if she was a lesbian and what she made of Yaa Pono's accusations.
She responded, “I’m not lesbian, he [Yaa Pono] should get a hit song.”
The beef between Yaa Pono and Shatta Wale escalated after the former was denied an opportunity to perform at a concert headlined by Shatta Wale in Cape Coast in the Central region in February this year.
The organizers of the concert later explained that Yaa Pono was unable to perform because they were running out of time and therefore had to cut down on the performances.
Things got ugly when the two released diss tracks to attack each other.
Recently rapper Kwaw Kese claimed that no Ghanaian entertainment personality owns a $1 million house in the country.
His claims followed declarations by Fuse ODG and Shatta Wale that they have purchased mansions worth $1 million dollars.
Shatta Mitchy, commenting on the criticisms by Kwaw Kese, noted that the mansion is real and “it is opening soon.”

Davido refused to use condom - Alleged 2nd baby mama reveals
When asked why she would allow anybody to have unprotected s*x with her, Ayomide alleged that the singer was not a fan of wearing condoms during s*x as she recounted in details what allegedly transpired the two times she alleged they had s*x.
The young lady claimed, “The reason I slept with him the first time we met was because I just wanted to catch my fun. The day we met at the club, Ebevande, I was with my friends, I did not really know him then but I just knew he was an artiste.
I went out with my female friends; we had like a ladies night out; then one of his bouncers came to meet me and told me that his boss wanted to see me. I actually thought it was the owner of the club that wanted to see me. When I got to where they were, I noticed that it was David and he was with B. Red.
I greeted both of them, B. Red did not respond but David did and we talked. He collected my pin and asked me to return to my seat.
When they were about to leave, the bouncer came to meet me again and informed me that they wanted to leave.
My friends thought we were all going together but when we all got to the car, he asked my friends to go back. He said that I was the one he wanted to see.
“We went to the Genesis Hotel. When we got to the room, we talked for a long while before we had s*x.
He is a very jovial person and he loves talking. He made me laugh a lot and we talked at length. B. Red was in the other room. I insisted that he should protect himself by wearing a condom before s*x but he refused.
He said that he does HIV test every two weeks. Then I asked him how sure he was that I did not have any disease but he said he was very sure I did not have a disease. After he had said all that, I told him to just do what he wanted to do and allow me go home in the morning.
That night, he had s*x with me twice. You would know he was in the mood to have s*x that night and it lasted for a while. He has a big manhood and it hurt me a little. The second time was when he noticed I was leaving in the morning and he just wanted to have s*x with me again.
“The second time, the s*x did not last long because he was very tired and he did not even know when I left the hotel. I do not drink or smoke but David drinks and smokes. He drank and smoked in the club” she alleged.
Labinjo told Saturday Beats that she was shocked that Davido said he gave her money as she claimed she had never received a dime from the singer since they met. In her words, she described the self-acclaimed Omo Baba Olowo as “a very stingy person.”
“I saw where he said he sent money to my family and that is a lie. The question I would ask is that what account did he pay the money into? He should bring out the bank teller. He has never given me money.
If they said they have given me money, there would be a record or evidence and they should bring it out. Even when we had sex, he never gave me money for transport.
David is a very stingy person and I would not be the first person saying this. I have heard it from different girls, David is very stingy,” she said.
When asked if she was certain that the pop star is the father of her child, she answered in the affirmative. She claimed as of the time they met, she did not have a boyfriend and she is not one to jump from one bed to another.
Labinjo said, “I am very sure he is the father of my child because I did not have a boyfriend when we met. I had some male friends but it was just a platonic relationship I had with them and nothing serious.
I don’t jump from one bed to another and that is why I am very bold and certain that he is the father of my child. If I had been sleeping around, I would not be that bold to talk.”
She was quick to add that all she wanted was for the singer to step forward for another DNA test. Labinjo said that even if the result shows that Davido is the father of her child, she doubts mutual love would co-exist between them because of the way he has treated her all these years.
The mother of one also hinted that the matter may soon be taken to court.
“I just want him to take up his responsibility but I heard he is not ready for another DNA. My mother has gone to a lawyer and we would eventually go to court because I know we have a good case.
I was told that even if David does not want to step out for a DNA, any of his siblings could step in for him. Once everything is settled, I just want him to take care of his daughter but there cannot be mutual love between us. Even the way he talks to me cannot allow for mutual love,” she said.
Meanwhile, in a chat with Sunday Punch, Davido’s manager, Asa Asika, had reportedly said, “Davido is not the father of the baby.”
When asked if the singer would be willing to undergo another DNA test, he retorted, “He is not going for another DNA test. After all, a test was conducted and it turned out negative. DNA tests are never wrong. Davido had never met her before she showed up at his house claiming that he is the father of her child. She is just an opportunist looking for quick money and fame.”
