Ghanaians voted democratization of violence - Suhuyini

Member of Parliament for Tamale North Alhassan Suhuyini, has stated that Ghanaian’s have voted for democratization of violence when they voted for President Akufo-Addo in the 2016 general elections.

Speaking on Radio Gold’s ‘Alhaji & Alhaji’ in wake of pro-New Patriotic Party group Delta Forces attack on the a Circuit Court in the Ashanti region, Alhassan Suhuyini said Ghanaian’s have voted for the democratization of violence and are reaping the effect of it.

“I am surprise that we are all pretending that we voted for the democratization of violence and yet we are surprise or pretending to be surprise when the fruits are beginning to show because clearly the warning signs has always been on the wall yet we ignored and as a people we decided that we want to try this democratization of violence and that is exactly what we are reaping and for me what happening as far as the operations of Delta Force, invisible force and all the other forces are concern does not surprise me as much as the surprise that civil societies and media and well-meaning Ghanaians are displaying because have we not been told about our current president before we was elected to be president, beyond what we have been told what haven’t we seen you can forgive people who perhaps are younger than 18 or perhaps just turn 18 in the last election..”

“ but he is somebody who has been in our politics for a very long time and so even if you did not believe the cautions you saw some of the things that he supervise as an active politician in these country I’m we remember what his very good friend Kofi Kumson said when he tried the first time to lead the NPP in to an election his very good cautioned this nation that he won’t be able to sleep with that man as president, why do you think he express those fears he said It clearly that he won’t be able to sleep with that man as president so why are we surprise that we are unable to sleep today that he is president that was his friend..”

Manhyia North MP gives cash to striking NPP communicators

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Manhyia North Constituency in the Ashanti region, Collins Owusu Amankwah has given an undisclosed amount to communicators of the party in the region.

Last week members of New Patriotic Party (NPP) communications team said they had lost interest in government to provide them jobs as they were promised in opposition urging President Akufo-Addo to wake up to their problems.

“It has been nearly four months since power was won, and we have absolutely no indication of faith in our leadership of the communications directorate”, members of the Ashanti Regional communications team wrote officially to suspend their activities until further notice.

“Government by now would have a sense of direction regarding appointments and jobs for our members who by defending the party on radio, television and other platforms contributed to the party’s victory”.

“We also have competencies to be their spokespersons, press secretaries, government appointees and others” the members stated in a press release.

The MP swiftly responded to the plight of the communicators and gave them an undisclosed amount of money through his special assistant, Mr. Victor Osei Owusu duly acknowledged by Kwasi Kyei, the Communications Director

According to him, this is the second time this year, that the MP extended such a gesture your benevolent to communicators, with the first being his act to host and commend them for their contribution towards the party’s victory in 2016 in early January.

“This gesture of extreme generosity on your part has reassured communicators that, there are people like you in our great party who really cares for their welfare. It is, therefore, our hope and prayers that, the Almighty God blesses and replenish all what you have given out”, he added

Ghanaians have regretted voting for Akufo-Addo – Twum Boafo

Barely 100 days since President Akufo-Addo resumed office, the Former Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Free Zones Board; Kwadwo Twum Boafo believes many Ghanaians have already regretted not retaining John Mahama as president in the 2016 December polls.

Speaking on GhOne TV’s State of Affairs yesterday, Kwadwo Twum Boafo asserted that he believes a comeback for John Mahama in 2020 will be a good move for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to win power because Ghanaians are now blaming themselves for choosing President Akufo-Addo over Mahama.

“I think President Mahama should run again and I tell you why, I think that there are going to be so many I told you so moments in the next four years, in fact they have already started”, he said

His reasons for making such assumptions were based on Nana Akufo-Addo’s elephant-sized government where 110 people were appointed as Ministers.

President Akufo-Addo’s appointment of 110 ministers has caused ruckus from the opposition party and many organizations criticizing his reasons for having a large size government.

But the Minister of Information, Mustpha Hamid at a press conference defended the President’s decision of appointing more ministers saying the President never promised a lean government in his campaign

NDC didn’t cherish power – Afotey Agbo

Kpone Katamanso MP Nii Laryea Afotey Agbo has said members of the erstwhile Mahama government did not treasure the political power they had, hence their failure to work hard enough to win the 2016 elections.

According to him, although this is not the time to apportion blame for the defeat of the NDC members of the then government failed to value political power.

His comments follow recent outbursts by some leading members of the NDC blaming some personalities and happenings within the party for the defeat at the polls.

Speaking in an interview with Emefa Apawu on Class 91.3FM’s 505 programme on Thursday March 23, Mr Afotey Agbo said: “People are coming out to react, they are coming out to give some comments but some are not correct and others, even if they are right, this is not the time to apportion blame, this is not the time to accuse people.

“Whatever happened in the [election] somehow is about human character, it is about people who have been in power for eight years, and at a point they cherished no more the power they had.”

Meanwhile, Kofi Adams, National Organiser of the NDC, has said the decision of some leading lights of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to openly criticise the actions of the party and some persons within its ranks following the NDC’s loss in last year’s elections reflects their inexperience and immaturity.

According to him, a committee has been put in place by the party to carry out a post mortem as to why the NDC lost the elections, hence, all concerns must be directed at the Professor Kwesi Botchwey-led committee.

His comments follow recent remarks made by some leading members of the party that the conduct of some members of the John Mahama government resulted in the party’s defeat.

The immediate past chairman of the opposition NDC, Dr Kwabena Adjei, is reported to have said on Starr FM: “I wasn’t surprised [the NDC lost]…because when they (delegates) voted me out in Kumasi they voted the party out. It was a done deal [that the NPP will win]. I am not superstitious, but I came to the party with my own style…and I had a way of relating to the people.

“Nobody involved me in the campaign, I involved myself… No, I wasn’t invited… I tried to get access to the president and I didn’t get access. When I noticed things were going wrong, I tried and tried and tried but I didn’t get access, so I mobilised myself…and did what I could do.”

Similarly, a former National Organiser of the NDC, Yaw Boateng Gyan, has said most of the executives disrespected the electorate.

“The other issue has to do with the way and manner our people were talking to the electorate…very arrogant and disrespectful. How would we have appealed to the voters?” he wondered in an interview on Abusua FM.

“Some of us couldn’t talk because they said we had been voted out of the executive position of the party and so we shouldn’t talk… A lot of things went wrong.”

However, reacting to these comments in an interview on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme on Thursday March 23, Mr Adams said: “A committee has been set up to listen to the concerns of all party members. The committee members are made up of eminent men who were not part of the executives and so we should allow the committee to work and put out their final report for all of us to work with.

“The accusation and counter accusation now will not help because if at the end of the day these accusations are not captured in the final report, then it means you have defamed somebody. I believe strongly that the way some of the leading members of the party are speaking is not the best, it doesn’t give indications of any experience, it doesn’t give indications of any maturity. I believe that they need to behave a little bit more maturely.”

We were more divided than the NPP prior to 2016 polls - Boateng Gyan

A former National Organiser of the main opposition National Democratic Congress has hinted that the party was more divided than the New Patriotic Party ahead of the 2016 elections.

Yaw Boateng Gyan discloses, actors of the NDC decided to trumpet the then opposition New Patriotic Party’s internal wranglings rather than the major crisis that confronted the National Democratic Congress then in government.

Boateng Gyan speaking to on a wide range of issues concerning the NDC in an interview with host of Abusua Nkommo, Kwame Adinkrah.

Boateng Gyan said, “Kwame, believe me…the NDC was much more divided than the NPP but we pretended as if all well and decided that talk about the NPP’s troubles.”

“People who dared to talk publicly about the party’s challenges were vilified and sidelined, how were we going to hear diverging opinions internally,” he asked.

“If we had paid attention to what people, our own party people were saying, I am telling you the NDC wouldn’t have been in position by now,” he revealed.

”The other issue has to do with the way and manner our people were talking to the electorates…very arrogant and disrespectful, how would we have appealed to the voters,” Gyan added.

“Kwame, some of us couldn’t talk because they said we have been voted out of the executive position of the party and so we shouldn’t talk…a lot of things went wrong,” he said.

“The grassroots of the party were angry because they were not resourced to work for the party, rather outsiders and strangers were the enjoying all the party’s resources for campaigns,” he said.

“For example, common party bills…the party had to send people from Accra to come to my hometown in Sunyani to erect billboards when our own local people could have been engaged, so they felt sidelined and so refused to contribute their energy to the campaign.”

“If you look at all these factors, must you be told that the party was deeply divided….we were even lucky the grassroots of the didn’t rise up in anger against those sent from Accra to fix campaign materials at the local level,” he added.

I am not interested in 2020 Presidency - Dr Omane Boamah

A former minister of communications in the erstwhile National Democratic Congress (NDC) government, Dr Edward Omane Boamah has discounted rumors of possible plans to contest as flagbearer of the party in 2020.

He has also described comments made by Dr Owusu Mensah of the Political Science Department of the University Ghana in that respect as intellectually deficient and procured.

The political scientist on Kumasi-based Abusua Fm said the former communications minister is not ripped politically to contest the highest office of the country on the ticket of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Dr Owusu Mensah admonished the former Communications Minister to plan of contesting and becoming the country’s President in the future.

He remarked that the former Minister of Local Government Samuel Ofosu Ampofo will be the best candidate to lead the NDC in 2020.

‘If I look at the list and calibre of people in the NDC, people who have experience and public trust in NDC, Ofosu Ampofo should be one of the crucial candidate for them.

I don’t want to comment so much on Omane Boamah because I don’t think he is qualified. I am not talking about age, but intellectually he is not qualified to be a President of Ghana.

There are so many candidates in line who they can look at their advantages and disadvantages, but Omane Boamah has not gotten to that level,’ he pointed out.

Anyidoho became President while Mills was dying – Appiah Stadium

Popular Kumasi based NDC serial caller, Frank Appiah aka Appiah Stadium has alleged that Deputy General Secretary of the party, Koku Anyidoho usurped the powers of late President Mills when the later had a frail health.

According to him, Mr Anyidoho as the Director of Communications at the Presidency went to the extent of signing documents for President John Evans Attah Mills in the last days leading to his death.

Appiah, has vowed to wage a relentless war against any member of the party who has purposed to make it impossible for ex President John Mahama to lead the NDC to the 2020 general elections.

According to him, the Deputy General Secretary and Vice Chairperson of the NDC, Koku Anyidoho and Anita Desoso respectively have hatched a grand agenda to prematurely end ex President Mahama’s Presidential ambition.

Appiah Stadium’s comment comes in the wake of a scathing attack by NDC MP for Yunyoo, Joseph Bipoba Naabu, who has said giving the ex President another chance to lead Ghana will see the economy being messed up the more, insisting that the former Ghanaian leader should give way for another person to lead the NDC in election 2020.

Appiah Stadium believes the MP is one of the few senior NDC members who have joined the likes of Koku and Anita to deny the ex President the opportunity of staging a come back.

He said his claim has been reinforced by an interview Koku Anyidoho granted GHOne TV few days ago during which he made a statement to the fact that “leadership will rotate, “I loved President Mills, but I worked for President Mahama.”

Anita also recently accused the various campaign groups that were formed for Mahama of contributing largely to the party’s defeat in last year’s elections.

In an interview with Kasapa News, Appiah Stadium said if the ‘enemies’ of Mahama in the NDC do not stop their attacks on him, he (Appiah) will blow their cover one after the other.

” Instead of us mounting pressure on President Akufo Addo and his large government, we’re rather fighting ourselves. If that’s what we want, then some of us will help to further rip the NDC apart, we’ll spill the beans. I’ll let the public know some of the things that went on at the Presidency under late President Attah Mills. In the last days before ex-President Mills died, when he was very weak and couldn’t sign signatures, Koku Anydoho was signing documents for him. If they purpose in their hearts to disgrace John Mahama I’ll also make sure I expose all their dubious dealings. Everyone knows that when late President Mills was terribly weak and kept indoors, he was there with Koku Anyidoho and they managed Ghana together, they should dare go on attacking John Mahama and I’ll say things that will break this country.”

He added: “Koku Anyidoho was on TV last week saying repeatedly that he loved late President Attah Mills, but just worked for ex-President John Mahama, are there no leaders in the NDC to rebuke him for what he said? Sadly everyone is looking on as such people go round denigrating our ex-President“?

NPP bigwigs buried live animals to win power - Zubah alleges

The former Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Obuasi Municipal Assembly in the erstwhile Mahama administration Richard Akwasi Boadi Agyeman popularly called ‘Zubah’ has alleged that stalwarts in the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) buried live cattle, sheep and goats to win the 2016 general elections.

Zubah further alleged that the NPP engaged in various forms of occultism during the electioneering which they are paying the price hence the numerous tragedies the country is faced with.

The former MCE claimed the deities always seek for their rewards after executing a project suggesting that the NPP and the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo did not win the elections through genuine means.

He said the NPP was only throwing dust in the eyes of the public by touting the popular slogan ‘the battle is the Lord’s but sought deities help.

‘Bare chested NPP executives consulted all manner of spiritual deities in the Northern region, it was all over social media, they buried live goats, cattle and sheep for the purposes of the elections. Those deities if they help you by giving you what you want, they come for their rewards in many forms,’ he alleged.

Speaking on Ultimate Breakfast Show hosted by Lantam Papanko, he called for a national prayer for the country prophesying the country will turn bleak if citizens fail to pray.

‘If you see what we see in the realms of the spirit, Ghana needs prayer. I am having visions, I am seeing dark clouds hovering around our country because of things being planted in our soils, the deities people consulted and the results they got thereof, the rewards that the deities are seeking, I am telling you Ghana needs prayers, some of us are children of God, we are going to stand up and pray and redeem Ghana from evil people, so we will tell God, if you saved Israel from one person, those of us who are your children, for our sake, let these things that are happening in our country go away, and let it not happen again,’ he stated.

He called on Ghanaians to desist from believing that NPP under the leadership of the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo won the elections through the right way.

‘Saints are not leading us. Did you see any National Democratic Congress (NDC) member consulting deities?’ he asked.
